Steve Wariner Biography
One of country music's most multi-faceted artists-a wonderful singer, intuitive songwriter and stunning guitarist, Steve Wariner has shown himself to be a resilient talent in a career that stretches back to 1972. He was 17 years old when country singer Dottie West invited him to join her touring band as a bass player and backup vocalist. Following three years of touring extensively across America and also a couple of trips to Europe that saw the teenager playing the Royal Albert Hall and the Wembley Country Music Festival, Steve joined the late rockabilly singer Bob Luman's band. That led to Steve being signed to RCA Records in 1977 and so began a recording career that has seen him place 55 singles on the country charts with 14 of them reaching number one.
