Duane Allman, long acknowledged as one of rock music's premier guitarists, remains a towering figure more than four decades after his death. His influence lives on, not only in the multiple generations of guitarists who have been motivated by his musicianship, but also in the legions of listeners, who have continued to find inspiration in his vibrant vision of rock music, which remains as fresh and truthful today as when it was first created.
Duane Allman, known to his bandmates as Skydog, was a founder member of the Allman Brothers Band with his younger brother Gregg Allman.
